Summer Black [demo]

about

A song that I recorded back in 2016 in the bedroom of my first shared flat in Barcelona. It's about one of my oldest sweatshirts, a faded-black crew-neck one that has been washed around 1001 times. The demo is rough, jagged, rhythmically loose and... fun. That's why I decided to upload it for people to hear. Maybe one day I will record a better version of it or maybe I won't.

A special shout-out to my old flatmates, Mer & Elias. Thanks for the many memories from Roger de Flor.

lyrics

When it's too warm for Old Beige and too cool for short slacks, I pull it over, I pull it over, Summer Black. When it's too grey for my shades and too late for colour. Summer Black, crew-neck collar. Machine washed tumble dried 1001 times. Summer Black attacks with comfort and kindness. You say you don't like my sweater, that faded-by-the-sun look. We're all jaded in this life but look: I'm gonna wear it to shreds. Life in Summer Black.
